Getting Started with Smarter Launch

πŸš€ Welcome to Smarter Launch: Your Getting-Started Guide

Congrats on getting set up! Your account is configured and ready to go. Here's what we recommend focusing on in your first couple of weeks to get your team confidently sending polished, professional proposals.

βœ… Your First Week Checklist

  • Log in and bookmark your dashboard β€” Access Smarter Launch anytime at dashboard.smarterlaunch.com. Add it to your phone or tablet's home screen for one-tap access in the field. See How to Access Smarter Launch.

  • Set up My Account β€” Each team member should complete their profile under My Account: name, title, signature, and any license or certification numbers used on proposals.

  • Add your team members β€” Invite office staff and sales reps under Settings > Team Members, and assign the right access role to each person. See Adding or Removing Team Members.

  • Turn on Two-Factor Authentication β€” Add an extra layer of security to every login, especially for anyone accessing customer and payment data. See Setting Up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA).

  • Send a practice proposal β€” Walk through the full proposal flow with a test customer before your first live proposal, so it feels natural in the field or office.

  • Review your state's compliance requirements β€” Check the Compliance collection for your state's required forms, notices, and disclosures.

πŸ‹ Training Your Team to Send Proposals

The best way to build confidence is to walk new reps through a live, low-stakes proposal. Here's the flow we recommend covering in a 20–30 minute training session:

  1. Start a New Proposal β€” Click the plus icon or Start New Proposal in the sidebar, then choose the location and proposal template.

  2. Add the customer β€” Search your connected CRM or Smarter Launch, or add a new customer directly from the proposal.

  3. Select services and pricing β€” Confirm the services pulled in from the template, add any extras, and decide which items are optional, recommended, or required for the customer.

  4. Finish the details β€” Add a cover photo, inspection photos, drawings, and any attached documents (like a consumer notice).

  5. Preview and record a walkthrough β€” A short walkthrough video significantly boosts close rates and helps the customer feel confident.

  6. Send it β€” Confirm the recipient, customize the email or SMS message, and send.

For the full step-by-step breakdown, see Sending a New Proposal.

Tip: Have new reps shadow an experienced team member on one live proposal before sending solo β€” most reps only need to see it once.

⭐️ Best Practices for Getting the Most Out of Smarter Launch

Set Up Proposals to Close Themselves

  • When creating a proposal, lock in or recommend your core services so a proposal never lands on the customer's screen showing $0. See

  • Always set an expiration date β€” a blank date causes the proposal to expire immediately.

  • Use the drawing tool and inspection photos to make proposals feel custom to the property, not generic.

  • Record a short walkthrough video on every proposal you're not presenting in person - this is proven to increase close rates!

Put Follow-Ups on Autopilot

  • Set up Automations so proposals that haven't been accepted trigger automatic reminder emails or texts β€” no manual chasing required. See Automations.

Keep Your Team Organized

Fine Tune your Services and Templates

Stay Compliant, State by State

  • If you operate in multiple states, check the Compliance collection for state-specific proposal requirements (notices, forms, consent language) before you start sending in a new state.
