Smarter Cards: Setup, Ordering & Usage Guide

Everything you need to know about setting up Smarter Cards, ordering physical cards, and getting the most out of your team's digital profiles

What Is a "Smarter Card"?

Smarter Cards gives each of your team members a professional digital profile that they can share instantly, no app required. Every card comes with two ways to share:

  • NFC tap — hold the card near the back of any modern smartphone and the profile opens automatically

  • QR code scan — scan the QR code on the front of the card with any phone camera

Alongside the digital profile, each team member gets a physical printed business card (standard credit card size) branded with your company colors and logo. Tap it, scan it, or hand it out — it works as both a traditional business card and a smart digital one.

What Can You Use It For?

Smarter Cards are built for pest control sales reps and service teams, but the use cases go beyond just handing out a card:

  • Everyone sells: make everyone on your team a sales person. Provide techs in the field with a frictionless way to introduce customers to add-on services.

  • Networking events & trade shows: skip the paper card pile. One tap shares everything instantly

  • Vehicle magnets & yard signs: print the QR code on marketing materials so leads can find the right rep directly and track conversions

  • Reviews & referrals: techs can share their profile with customers after a visit to encourage reviews or referrals

  • New hire onboarding: get new reps in the field with a professional card from day one

  • Trade Shows: wow potential customers with a modern experience of receiving a personalized quote in minutes when combined with Customer Generated Proposals

Setting Up Smarter Cards

Before you can place an order, Smarter Cards need to be enabled on your account. You can add the Smarter Cards integration to your account and toggle it on to enable the ability to order cards for your team.

Once active, go to Settings → Integrations → Smarter Cards and ensure it is toggled on (it should be toggled on already):

You'll see:

  • Your license limit (how many team members can have Smarter Cards)

  • How many licenses are currently in use

  • A link to view all enabled team members

  • Your full order history and status

Enabling a Smarter Card for a Team Member

You can enable Smarter Cards for a team member in two ways:

  • When placing an order — any team member you include in a card order will have Smarter Card automatically enabled on their account

  • Manually — go to Settings → Team, open a team member's profile, and toggle their Smarter Card on. If you have available licences, this is the way to go, unless they don't have a card yet. If they need a card, place an order and it will use any existing allotment if available.

Once enabled, their public profile goes live immediately and is accessible via their unique profile link, QR code, and NFC chip (once their card arrives).

Ordering Physical Cards

Click Order Smarter Cards from the Smarter Card integration panel. A 3-step guided order form will walk you through the process.


Step 1 — Customize Your Card Design

Preview your card before ordering. The front shows your company logo, the team member's name, title, and contact details, a QR code, and an NFC indicator. The back shows tap instructions and Smarter Launch branding.

You can customise:

  • Primary color — the card background color

  • Secondary color — used for accent text and the QR code

  • Logo — upload a custom logo or use your company default

  • Color Logo toggle — choose whether your logo displays in full color or inverted to white (useful on dark backgrounds)

If you have multiple locations with different branding, use the Location dropdown to preview and apply that location's colors and logo. Customisation is optional — if you skip it, your cards will use your default company branding.


Step 2 — Select Team Members

Choose which team members should receive cards in this order. You can search by name or scroll the list. The count of selected members is shown as you go.

If any selected members have already received a card in a previous order, they'll be flagged as reprints and a one-time reprint fee will apply (see Pricing below).


Step 3 — Shipping & Confirmation

Enter the shipping address where the cards should be delivered. Review your order summary — it shows a line-by-line breakdown of what's included and any charges that will apply.

Check the box to agree to the charges and Terms & Conditions, then click Confirm Order. You'll see a confirmation message and the order will appear in your order history with a status of Pending.

All charges are applied to your subscription's payment method. If your plan already has available Smarter Card license seats, adding new team members to an order won't trigger any additional monthly charge — available seats are used first.

Tracking Your Order

Once your order is placed, you can track its progress from the Smarter Card integration panel. Orders move through these stages:

  • Pending — order received, being prepared by the Smarter Launch team

  • Processing — print files are being prepared

  • Printed — cards have been printed

  • Completed — cards have been shipped; you'll receive an email with your tracking number

Click View Details on any order in the history table to see the full breakdown, including which team members are included, shipping address, and tracking information once available.

The 90-Day License Commitment

When you enable Smarter Card for a team member, that license is committed for a minimum of 90 days. After 90 days, you can disable their card and reassign that license to a different team member if needed.

This applies whether the card was enabled manually or through an order. The 90-day period starts from the first time the card is activated for that user.

Managing Your Team's Cards

The integration panel shows a live count of how many licenses are in use. When you're close to your limit, the usage bar will turn orange, and it turns red when fully utilised. Click the Enabled Members

To disable a team member's card after the 90-day period, go to Settings → Team, open their profile, and toggle Smarter Card off. Their public profile will immediately become inaccessible, and the license will be freed up for someone else.

Canceling an Order

You can cancel a Pending order by contacting our support team. Once an order moves to Processing or beyond, it can no longer be canceled.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do customers need an app to view the profile?
No — NFC tap and QR code both open the profile directly in the phone's browser. No app download required on either end.

What phones support NFC tap?
Most modern smartphones support NFC. iPhones (XS and newer) and the majority of Android phones released in the last several years all work. If a phone doesn't support NFC, the QR code on the front is always a reliable fallback.

Can each location have different card branding?
Yes — if your locations have individual branding configured, you can select a location in the card preview step and the order will use that location's colors and logo.

What if a team member loses their card?
You can reorder a replacement card at any time. Replacement cards are $10 each as a one-time charge.

Does the card update automatically if a team member's info changes?
Yes — the digital profile reflects the current information in Smarter Launch. The physical card is printed at the time of the order, so it won't change, but the QR code and NFC chip always point to the live profile.

What happens to the profile if I disable a team member's Smarter Card?
Their public profile becomes inaccessible immediately. Anyone scanning the QR code or tapping the NFC chip will not be able to reach the profile until the card is re-enabled.

How long does shipping take?
Shipping times vary. Once your order is marked as shipped, you'll receive an email with a tracking number so you can follow the delivery.
