Georgia WDO Proposal Compliance
Disclaimer: Smarter Launch makes every effort to keep the information in this article current and accurate. However, Georgia regulations can change, and it is ultimately your responsibility as a licensed operator to verify compliance requirements with your state's governing authority — in Georgia, the Georgia Department of Agriculture Structural Pest Control Section — and to ensure your proposals meet all applicable rules and regulations. This article is for informational purposes only and does not constitute legal advice.
Georgia requires specific elements on all WDO-related proposals and service agreements under the Rules of the Georgia Structural Pest Control Act. Below is what's required and where to set each item up in Smarter Launch.
Notice Banner
Every termite proposal must display the appropriate notice banner blocked in with a heavy black line, in letters at least 1/8 inch tall. The correct banner depends on your treatment type and warranty coverage. Use the matching banner for each proposal template.
Liquid Treatment — Retreat Only:
THIS CONTRACT PROVIDES FOR RETREATMENT OF A STRUCTURE BUT DOES NOT PROVIDE FOR THE REPAIR OF DAMAGE CAUSED BY WOOD DESTROYING ORGANISMS.
Liquid Treatment — Retreat & Repair:
THIS CONTRACT PROVIDES FOR RETREATMENT OF A STRUCTURE AND THE REPAIR OF DAMAGE CAUSED BY WOOD DESTROYING ORGANISMS WITHIN THE LIMITS STATED IN THIS CONTRACT.
Bait Station — Retreat Only:
THIS CONTRACT PROVIDES FOR RETREATMENT OF A STRUCTURE BUT DOES NOT PROVIDE FOR THE REPAIR OF DAMAGE CAUSED BY WOOD DESTROYING ORGANISMS.
THE REMOVAL OF THE BAIT OR BAITING SYSTEM MAY RESULT IN A LACK OF TERMITE PROTECTION.
Bait Station — Retreat & Repair:
THIS CONTRACT PROVIDES FOR RETREATMENT OF A STRUCTURE AND THE REPAIR OF DAMAGE CAUSED BY WOOD DESTROYING ORGANISMS WITHIN THE LIMITS STATED IN THIS CONTRACT.
THE REMOVAL OF THE BAIT OR BAITING SYSTEM MAY RESULT IN A LACK OF TERMITE PROTECTION.
How to add in Smarter Launch: Go to Proposals > Templates and open the relevant termite proposal template. Find the Notice Banner section and enter the appropriate banner text for that template. The Notice Banner is designed for compliance language that must appear prominently on the first page of the proposal PDF with a bold box around the text. Create separate templates for liquid and bait station proposals so each uses the correct banner. See Creating and Editing Proposal Templates for more details.
Insurance Statement
All Georgia proposal templates must include the following statement in the same size type as other terms and conditions in the service agreement:
"The Georgia Structural Pest Control Act requires all pest control companies to maintain insurance coverage. Information about this coverage is available from this pest control company."
How to add in Smarter Launch: Add this statement to the body of your Service Agreement. Go to Proposals > Service Agreements, open the relevant agreement, and include the insurance statement in the agreement body. See Creating and Editing Service Agreements for more details.
Georgia Official Waiver
The Georgia Official Waiver is required for all termite treatments. It must be signed by the property owner and provided to them before work begins.
How to add in Smarter Launch: The Georgia Official Waiver is available in Forms. Go to Proposals > Templates, open your termite proposal template, and add the waiver from the Forms section. If it is mapped to a PDF, also add it in the Attached Documents section set to either append or prepend. See Creating and Editing Proposal Templates and Mapping a Form to a PDF for more details.
