The Video Recording feature lets you record personalized video messages and attach them directly to proposals.
Instead of sending a text-only proposal, you can walk your customer through it on camera — explaining your recommendations, highlighting key services, and adding a personal touch that builds trust before you ever meet in person.
Videos are recorded directly inside Smarter Launch using your browser. No external apps or accounts are required.
Enabling Video Recording
Video Recording is available under:
Settings → Integrations → Video Recording
Once enabled, the Record Video button will appear inside any proposal you are building or editing.
Recording a Video
Desktop Recording
When you click Record Video inside a proposal, a recorder panel opens with three mode options:
Screen: Captures your full screen or a specific window/tab.
Camera: Captures your webcam only.
Screen + Camera: Captures your screen with a live camera overlay.
After selecting your mode:
A 3-second countdown plays.
Recording begins automatically.
You can pause and resume at any time using on-screen controls.
Click Stop when finished.
A preview will play back your recording.
If you're satisfied, click Save Recording to upload it.
Tips for Screen + Camera Mode
The camera preview is draggable — position it in any corner of the screen.
You can choose a background for your camera feed: blur, a blurred image, or a custom background.
Mobile Recording
On mobile devices, you can:
Record using your front or rear camera
Upload a video file directly from your device
Recording Limits
Maximum duration: 3 minutes
Maximum file size: 50 MB
Processing & Saving
After you save a recording, it uploads and processes in the background.
You do not need to remain on the page. A pending video banner appears at the top of your screen indicating that processing is in progress.
Once processing is complete:
The banner updates with a Use Recording button.
Click Use Recording to attach the video to your proposal.
The banner clears automatically once the video is saved to the proposal.
If you change your mind before attaching it, click Discard Recording in the banner.
Viewing Videos in Proposals
When a video is attached, it appears in a dedicated Recording Section at the top of the proposal preview.
Customers can watch the video directly in their browser — no login or app required.
Team members viewing the proposal inside Smarter Launch can also play the video inline.
Downloading a Recording
To download a copy of a video:
Go to Settings → Integrations → Video Recording.
Click View Videos to open your video library.
Locate the recording and click Download.
The first time you request a download, the system prepares the file in the background. Once ready, the download link becomes available. This may take a short moment depending on the video length.
Managing Your Video Library
Viewing Videos
From Settings → Integrations → Video Recording, click View Videos to see all company recordings.
You can:
See which proposal each video is attached to
See which team member recorded it
View file size and recording date
Delete videos you no longer need
Deleting a Video
Deleting a video permanently removes it from your library and from any proposal it was attached to. This action cannot be undone.
Only the person who recorded the video or a company administrator can delete it.
Storage Management
Your account includes a video storage limit. Current usage is displayed as a bar chart in the integration settings.
Auto-Cleanup
You can enable Auto-Cleanup in the Video Recording settings.
When enabled, if your storage is full when a new video is processed, Smarter Launch automatically deletes your oldest recordings to make room. This prevents workflow interruptions.
Note: Auto-Cleanup permanently deletes older videos. Download any recordings you want to keep before storage fills up.
To toggle Auto-Cleanup:
Go to Settings → Integrations → Video Recording.
Use the Auto-Cleanup toggle in the storage section.
Upgrading Storage
If you need additional storage, click Upgrade Storage in the integration settings.
Recalculating Storage Stats
If your storage display appears incorrect, click the Refresh button next to the storage bar to recalculate usage from your video library.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do customers need an account to watch the video?
No. Videos play directly within the proposal for anyone who has the proposal link. No login is required.
Can I re-record and replace a proposal video?
Yes. Open the proposal, record a new video, and save it. The new recording replaces the previous one on the proposal. The old video will be deleted.
What happens to a video if I delete a proposal?
The video will also be deleted.
Can multiple team members record videos?
Yes. Any team member with proposal access can record a video. Videos are attributed to the person who recorded them.
The “Use Recording” button isn’t appearing after I saved my recording. What should I do?
Processing can take a moment depending on video length and quality. The pending banner updates automatically when ready. If the banner disappears without showing the button, check View Videos in the integration settings to confirm the recording was saved.
What happens if my recording fails to process?
If processing fails, the pending banner displays an error state. Try recording again. If the issue continues, please contact support.
I recorded a video but navigated away. Where is it?
If your video was still uploading or processing, the pending banner will reappear when you return to any proposal page. From there, you can save or discard the recording.

What to check:
Wait a few minutes and refresh the page
If the issue persists, discard and re-record
