Managing Customer Reviews on Proposals
Customer reviews help build trust and credibility in your proposals. You can display Google reviews automatically or add your own reviews manually. This guide explains how to set up and manage reviews that appear on your proposals.
Connect Your Google Reviews
You can automatically display your Google rating, total number of reviews, and selected positive reviews on your proposals by adding your Google Places ID.
To add your Google Places ID:
Go to Settings.
Select Locations.
Click the location you want to edit.
Enter your Google Places ID.
Click Save Changes.
Once saved, your proposal will automatically show:
Your Google star rating
Your total number of Google reviews
A selection of positive five-star reviews
Google limits how many individual reviews can be pulled at one time.
Your rating and total review count will always be accurate, but only a small selection of reviews will appear on proposals.
Over time, additional reviews may become available and rotate into your proposal display.
Manually Enter Your Rating (If You Don’t Have a Google Places ID)
If you do not have a Google Places ID (for example, if you operate primarily as a service-area business), you can still show your reputation on proposals.
To manually enter your rating:
Go to Settings → Locations.
Select your location.
Enter your Google rating and total number of reviews manually.
Click Save Changes.
This will display your star rating and review count on your proposals.
Manage Reviews
Once a Google Places ID is connected, reviews will begin appearing in your review manager.
To manage reviews:
Go to Settings.
Click Custom Settings.
Select Reviews.
Here you can view and manage all reviews that appear in your proposals.
Edit a Review
Click a review.
Select Edit.
Make small adjustments if needed (for example, fixing grammar).
Save your changes.
Tip: Avoid changing the meaning of the original review.
Add a Review Manually
You can also add your own reviews.
Click Add Review in the upper right.
Enter the review details.
Save.
This is useful for adding testimonials that may not appear automatically from Google.
Reorder Reviews
The order of reviews determines how they appear in your proposals.
Reviews at the top appear first.
Reviews appear in this order in both the review carousel and sidebar reviews.
To reorder reviews:
Drag and drop reviews into your preferred order.
Delete a Review
If you don’t want a review to appear:
Locate the review in the list.
Click Delete.
Disable Reviews on a Proposal Template
If you prefer not to show reviews on a specific proposal template, you can turn them off.
To disable reviews:
Go to Proposal Templates.
Select the template you want to edit.
Scroll to the Reviews section.
Toggle Reviews Off.
Review Display Options in Proposals
Reviews can appear in two places within your proposal:
Review Banner
Displays reviews in a scrollable section where customers can browse multiple testimonials.
Sidebar Reviews
Displays smaller reviews in the sidebar of the introduction section.
This option is off by default, but you can enable it in the template settings.
Unfortunately, if you do not have a physical address, Google does not provide us the ability to retrieve reviews for your company.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: I've added reviews to my account, but still don't see them on my proposals. What's going on?
A: You'll need to make sure that your proposal template has the "Reviews" section turned on. You can check this by navigating to your proposal template and scrolling down to the sections, and ensure that the green checkbox is visible for the "Reviews" section.
