What are Linked Accounts?

Linked Accounts let your team log in to another Smarter Launch company from your own account — without a second password, a second login, or sharing credentials.

If your organization runs more than one company in Smarter Launch — separate brands, regions, franchises, or acquisitions — Linked Accounts give the people who oversee them a single sign-in and a quick way to switch between them.

When This Is Useful

Multi-brand or multi-region operators — an owner or regional manager can move between each company's dashboard without logging out.
Franchise groups — a parent office can support individual locations directly, seeing exactly what that location's team sees.
Acquisitions — keep an acquired company's data separate while giving your leadership team access.
Shared back-office staff — a team member who handles proposals or scheduling for several companies works from one login.

Getting Linked Accounts Set Up

Linking two companies is done by Smarter Launch. Contact your Account Rep or our support team and tell us which company should be the parent and which companies it should be linked to.

A few things worth knowing about how links work:

Links are one-directional. Linking Company A to Company B lets A's team log in to B — not the other way around. If you need access in both directions, ask us to set up a link each way.
Linking does not merge anything. Each company keeps its own customers, proposals, settings, and billing. Nothing is shared or combined.
Once the link exists, you control who on your team can use it — see below.

Choosing Who Can Use a Linked Account

Company owners decide which team members can log in to each linked company.

Go to Settings → Team Members.
Click Linked Account Access in the page header.
Pick a company from the Linked Company dropdown.
Use Add Team Member to grant someone access to that company.
Optionally, use Limit to specific users on their row to restrict which users they may log in as. Leave it empty and they can log in as any user with the same or a lower role.
Click Save. You'll see a "Linked account access updated" confirmation.

To remove someone's access, click the trash icon on their row (Revoke access) and save.

Note for company owners: owners automatically have access to every linked company, so you don't need to add yourself. If you do add an owner to a grant list, that owner is then limited to only the linked companies they've been granted — so add an owner only when you intend to narrow their access.

What Access Looks Like

When someone logs in to a linked company, they don't get extra powers — they log in as a specific user in that company and see exactly what that user sees.

Smarter Launch enforces a same-or-lower role rule. You can only log in as someone at your role level or below:

Owners of a linked company can never be logged in as — not even by another owner. If you need something only that company's owner can do, they'll need to sign in themselves.

Switching to a Linked Account

Click your avatar in the top-right corner.
Click View All Accounts.
Find the company you want in the list and click View Team Members. You can search by name if you have several.
Find the team member you want to log in as and click Login.

You'll land in that company's dashboard, logged in as the user you selected.

To return to your own account, open the account menu under your avatar again and choose the switch-back option. You'll be returned to your own dashboard.

Don't see "View All Accounts"? The option appears only when two things are true: your company has at least one linked company, and you've been granted access to it. Depending on which piece is missing, there are two different places to go:

No companies are linked yet. Only the Smarter Launch team can link companies together — your company owner can't do this themselves. Contact your Account Rep or our support team to get a link set up.
Companies are linked, but you haven't been granted access. Your company owner controls who can use each linked company. Ask them to add you under Settings → Team Members → Linked Account Access.

If you're not sure which applies, start with your company owner — they can see whether any companies are linked.

Security and Visibility

Every linked login is recorded. An entry is written to the linked company's activity feed showing who logged in, which company they came from, and which user they logged in as. Actions are always traced back to the real person — not the borrowed identity.
No passwords are shared. Nobody needs another user's credentials to use a linked account.
Access changes apply immediately. If a link is removed or a grant is revoked or narrowed, anyone currently working inside that linked company is signed out of it right away.
Access is always granted per company. A grant for one linked company never carries over to another.

Common Questions

Can I link companies myself?	No — contact your Account Rep or our support team to set up a link. Once it exists, your company owner manages who can use it.
Does linking merge our data or billing?	No. Each company keeps its own customers, proposals, settings, and billing. Linking only affects who can log in.
Can the linked company's team log in to our account?	Not unless a separate link is set up in that direction. Links are one-directional by default.
Why can't I log in as a particular user?	They're likely at a higher role than you, or they're that company's owner (owners can never be logged in as). Your access may also be limited to specific users — check with your company owner.
I was working in a linked company and got signed out of it.	Your access was probably revoked or narrowed, or the link was removed. Access changes take effect immediately. Check with your company owner.
Will the linked company see that I logged in?	Yes — every linked login is written to that company's activity feed, showing who you are and which company you came from.
