Tags are custom labels you create and apply to proposals to keep your work organized.
Whether you manage dozens of proposals a week or hundreds, tags provide a fast, flexible way to categorize, search, and filter proposals without changing how proposals are structured.
Common uses include categorizing proposals by:
Type (Residential, Commercial)
Priority (High Priority, Follow Up)
Campaign (Spring 2025, Referral)
Any other grouping that matches your workflow
Managing Tags in Settings
Navigate to: Settings → Custom Settings → Tags
This page shows all tags your company has created, including names and descriptions.
You can:
Search by name or description
Sort by any column
Paginate through results
Creating a Tag
Click Add Tag.
Enter:
Name (required) — Up to 30 characters, must be unique within your company
Description (optional) — Up to 100 characters
Click Save.
Editing a Tag
Click the edit icon on any tag to modify its name or description.
The same uniqueness and length rules apply.
Deleting a Tag
Click the delete icon and confirm.
A tag cannot be deleted while it is applied to any proposal. Remove it from all proposals first, then delete it from the library.
Applying Tags to Proposals
You can assign tags when creating or editing a proposal, or manage them anytime from the proposal’s tags dialog.
Applying Tags While Editing a Proposal
Open the proposal for editing.
Find the Tags field in proposal details.
Select one or more tags from the dropdown (search by name to find tags quickly).
Multiple tags can be applied to a single proposal.
Managing Tags from the Proposal Action Menu
To update tags without opening the full edit view:
Open the proposal’s action menu.
Click Tags.
Add or remove tags as needed.
Tags and Duplicated Proposals
When you duplicate a proposal, its tags are copied automatically to the duplicate.
Filtering Proposals by Tags
Tags integrate directly into proposal list filters.
To filter by one or more tags:
Open the Filters panel on the proposal list.
Select one or more tags in the Tags filter.
The list updates to show proposals that match any selected tag.
Filtering uses OR logic: a proposal appears if it has at least one of the selected tags.
Active tag filters appear as chips at the top of the list. Click a chip to remove that filter.
Tags in Dashboards and Reporting
When configuring dashboard reports, you can filter results by tag.
This allows focused reporting, such as:
Only proposals tagged “Commercial”
Only proposals tagged “High Priority”
Tag filtering in reports works the same way as in the proposal list.
Tags on Import Sets
A separate category of tags, Import Set tags, can be applied to import sets to help organize data imports by category or campaign.
Important notes:
Import Set tags are managed independently from proposal tags.
They appear on the same Tags settings page but are stored under their own category.
They are only available within Import Sets settings.
Permissions
View tags: All roles
Create, edit, delete tags: Owners, Admins, Managers, Team Supervisors
Standard users can view the tag library and apply existing tags to proposals, but cannot create, rename, or delete tags.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I apply more than one tag to a proposal?
Yes. There is no limit to how many tags you can apply to a single proposal.
Can two tags have the same name?
No. Tag names must be unique within your company.
What happens if I delete a tag from the library?
You cannot delete a tag that is applied to any proposal. You must remove it from all proposals first.
If I duplicate a proposal, do the tags carry over?
Yes. Tags are copied automatically to the duplicate.
Can I use tags to filter the proposal list?
Yes. Use the Filters panel in the proposal list and select one or more tags.
Is there a limit to how many tags I can create?

Issue: Can’t delete a tag
What to check:
The tag is applied to one or more proposals
Remove it from all proposals, then delete it

Ensure the name is 30 characters or fewer
Ensure the name is not already in use
