Label SDS Integration

The Label SDS integration connects Smarter Launch to the LabelSDS.com product database — a service that provides up-to-date product labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for pest control products.

Once enabled, the integration allows you to:

  • Import your Label SDS product catalog directly into Smarter Launch as company products

  • Attach accurate manufacturer names, EPA numbers, product labels, and SDS documents to each product

  • Link those documents to the products used in proposals so customers can access safety information

This integration is automatically enabled for all companies, and the master product database is updated daily.

Prerequisites

You will need an API key from Label SDS.

To obtain your API key:

  • Contact your Label SDS account representative, or

  • Log in to your Label SDS account portal

Setting Up the Integration

  1. Navigate to Settings → Integrations.

  2. Locate the SDS Label tile.

  3. Click to open the integration settings.

  4. Enter your Label SDS API Key.

  5. Click Save.

Your API key is encrypted and stored securely. It will not be shown in plaintext after saving.

Syncing Your Product Catalog

After saving your API key, products are not imported automatically. You control when the import occurs.

To sync available products:

  1. Click the Refresh button in the integration settings.

  2. Smarter Launch will contact the Label SDS API and count how many products are available in your account that have not yet been imported.

  3. A message will appear:
    “We found X products in your Label SDS account.”

Only products that have not already been imported will appear in this count. Previously imported products are excluded.

Importing Products

After syncing, you will see a Confirm Import into Products button.

To import:

  1. Click Confirm Import into Products.

  2. Smarter Launch queues a background job to create a Company Product record for each available Label SDS product.

  3. Each imported product is automatically populated with:

    • Product Name (from Label SDS)

    • Description/Summary (from Label SDS)

    • A link to its Label SDS record (used to retrieve label and SDS documents)

  4. Once complete, the integration settings will display an Import Complete status.

Imports run in the background. Large catalogs may take a few moments to finish.

Linking Products Manually

You can also link Label SDS data to products individually.

  1. Go to Settings → Products.

  2. Open an existing product or create a new one.

  3. In the product name field, begin typing the product name.

  4. An autocomplete dropdown will search your available Label SDS catalog in real time.

  5. Select the desired product.

Smarter Launch will automatically populate:

  • Product name

  • Description (from the Label SDS summary)

A Label SDS information section will appear below the product details showing:

  • Manufacturer name

  • EPA number

  • Safety Data Sheet (SDS) button

  • Product Label button

To remove the association, click the Unlink button (chain-break icon).

Label SDS Documents in Proposals

When a product linked to Label SDS is included in a proposal, document links are displayed alongside the product in the proposal preview.

Document display priority:

  1. Product Label (if available)

  2. Safety Data Sheet (SDS), if available

  3. Product image (if uploaded manually)

Customers can click the displayed links to view the relevant label or SDS PDF.

Keeping Your Catalog Up to Date

Smarter Launch refreshes the master Label SDS product database once per day.

If new products are added to your Label SDS account, they will become available the next time you click Refresh in the integration settings.

You can manually trigger a refresh at any time by clicking Refresh on the integration page.

Where do I get a Label SDS API key?

Contact your Label SDS account representative or retrieve your key from your Label SDS account portal.

Do products get imported automatically when I enable the integration?

No. You must click Refresh to sync available products, then Confirm Import into Products to create product records. This ensures you maintain full control over the import process.

What happens if new products are added later?

Click Refresh at any time. Smarter Launch will detect only new, unimported products and prompt you to import them.

Can I link a Label SDS product to an existing product?

Yes. Open the product under Settings → Products and use the product name field to search and select the matching Label SDS record.

How do I remove the Label SDS link from a product?

Open the product and click the Unlink button in the Label SDS section. This removes the association without deleting the product.

Are the SDS and label documents stored in Smarter Launch?

No. Documents are hosted by Label SDS. Smarter Launch stores secure URLs and links directly to them. This ensures documents are always current when Label SDS updates them.

Is my API key stored securely?

Yes. Your API key is encrypted at rest and is never returned in plaintext through the API.

Troubleshooting

Issue: No products found after clicking Refresh

What to check:

  • Verify your API key is correct

  • Confirm you have products in your Label SDS account

Issue: “Import Complete” shown but products are not visible

What to check:

  • The background job may still be running

  • Wait a moment and refresh the Products page

Issue: SDS or Label button not showing on a product

What to check:

  • Confirm the product is linked to a Label SDS record

  • Look for the Label SDS information section on the product

Issue: Label or SDS links not appearing in a proposal

What to check:

  • Ensure the product used in the proposal is linked to a Label SDS record

  • Confirm the record contains valid document URLs
